FETfit Youth education
Learn about healthy nutrition
Educating young children about healthy food and encouraging them to keep fit is very important. DOOR growers know this all too well.
That is why we have developed a special educational package for primary school pupils ages 10-12. Children can learn how to lead a healthy life, thanks to DOOR’s FETfit education programme, focusing on cycling, eating, and growing food.
Pupils can gain an insight into how tomatoes are really grown in greenhouses in Westland, before taking to the bike under the instruction of a guide. They visit four or five different greenhouses, and get to take some fresh vegetables away with them from each one. After the bike ride through Westland, they can learn to cook with a professional chef. You can also order a cucumber or tomato plant for the classroom.
