Cooperative DOOR grows. Since the establishment in 2013 the acreage of DOOR grew by 190 hectare. In 2016 the acreage will grow to a total of 460 hectare. Not only did new members join; not a single member left DOOR. On top of that, the number of product groups expanded. Besides Prominent, Purple Pride and Green Diamonds, also PapriCo and SweetPoint joint forces. In 2016 GreenCo joined as the sixth member.
DOOR is happy with the addition. “It reinforces our position en that of our brands in the market”, says Jan Opschoor, director of DOOR. Cooperation and learning from each other’s experiences is important to us. By joining forces we can seize opportunities quickly and decisively. This starting point highly appeals to our new members. Our independent position in the market and focus to sales and marketing also plays a significant role in their choice for DOOR.
Prominent secured the largest growth this year. The acreage of vine tomatoes has grown by 30 hectare because three more companies joined by 2016. At PapriCo a new member joined to fulfil customer needs of green peppers. The acreage of Purple Pride’s aubergines grew by expansion of an existing cultivation location. The incorporation of Greenco expands DOOR’s collection of snack vegetables. Greenco, well-known by the brand Tommies.
Our brand’s starting points are the same; an autonomous market position, optimal product quality and the willingness to invest in marketing. Our members fit well within the cooperative structure; they embrace the added value of collaborate entrepreneurship. Mainly, this is the driving force behind DOOR. Work together and build strong brands.
